BAUN is a professional organisation which aims to promote and maintain the highest standards in the practice and development of urological nursing and urological patient care.
To meet this aim, BAUN have to be cost effective in delivering education, such as organise conferences and study days, provide educational materials including guidelines, newsletters, website and access to the International Journal of Urology Nursing, to provide personal development to our members and in turn improving the standards of care for our urology patients. Which all comes at a financial cost to achieve.
BAUN being a non-profitable organisation, but is also a registered charity, reliant on income to meet their aims and objectives. The main two incomes generated are from annual conference and member’s subscriptions, that provides essential funds but is always limited to the number of members and sponsorship of the conference.
Just like any organisation, the more finances generated, allows BAUN to increase and improve the frequency and quality of delivering education, support and networking for our members, and this is why it is vital to explore and acquire alternative sources of income such as donations, fundraising (both with gift aid), sponsorship and also specific financial grants that are available to our organisation.
Fundraising is also vital for BAUN, as not only does this generate income, this also raises public awareness and gives legitimacy to the organisation.
Being a member of BAUN gives you access to possible financial grants for a variety of education courses. Although these grants are not funded by BAUN, there are links to the application grants on the BAUN website for our members to access.
Donations and fundraising can be made via JustGiving
